On December 20, 2012, the Santa Monica Police Department began an investigation into allegations of a sexual battery occurring on the Santa Monica High School campus.
A 15 year old, female student reported she was grabbed on the buttocks by an instructional aide assigned to work with special education students on a part-time basis. The aide was identified as 34 year old, Kelvin Ramirez.
The investigation was presented to the Santa Monica City Attorney’s Office and one count of 243.4(e)(1) PC (Sexual Battery), a misdemeanor was filed. Mr. Ramirez was given an arraignment date of February 27, 2013, at the LAX Courthouse.
