    Hit and Run - Auto vs. Pedestrian

    On January 21, 2014 at 10:50 p.m., the Santa Monica Police Department responded to the 2300 block of San Vicente regarding a hit and run traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

    The preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle was traveling eastbound San Vicente in the number two lane.  The pedestrian was jogging eastbound near the curb.

    The investigation revealed that the driver struck the jogger and continued eastbound, fleeing the scene without rendering aid.  The jogger, female 17 years old Santa Monica resident, was observed by a passing motorist.  The jogger was transported to a local hospital and listed in critical condition.

    The suspect's vehicle is described as a 2010 to 2012 Toyota Corolla, magnetic gray metallic (dark gray) in color.  The vehicle is believed to have noticeable collision damage to the front end.
