On April 20, 2014 at about 8 p.m., officers from the Santa Monica Police Department responded to a call of a dog bite at a residence in the 1800 block of 21st Street.  Officers found that the 8 year old girl was visiting a residence on the property when two or three pit bull dogs bit her.   She sustained non-life threatening bite wounds to her left shoulder area, her left foot and calf, and left buttocks to which she was taken to a local hospital and received multiple stitches.

The victim is resting at home and according to her mother, is in considerable pain because of the bites.  Three dogs involved in the incident were taken from the owners for 10-day quarantine by the Santa Monica Police Department's, Animal Control Unit.  The initial police investigation has found no evidence of criminal conduct committed by the dog owners.
