On March 7, 2001
at approximately 2:30 p.m., Santa Monica Police responded to the
intersection of 20th Street and Broadway Avenue regarding a
traffic accident involving a motorist and a motorcyclist.
A
preliminary investigation revealed that a motorist made a left turn in
front of on-coming traffic, striking the motorcyclist.
The motorcyclist sustained major injuries and was transported
to Santa Monica/UCLA Hospital where he is listed in critical
condition.
The
driver of the vehicle, a resident of Los Angeles, was interviewed at
the scene and released.
An
investigation is continuing to determine the exact cause of the
accident.
