SITUATION
SUMMARY
As I'm sure you're all aware, just before 9:am eastern standard time,
an airliner struck one of the World Trade Center towers in New York.
Approximately 18 minutes later a second airliner was flown into the
second WTC tower. Within a half an hour, it is reported that a plane
crash landed in the vicinity of the Pentagon and just before 11am EST
still another domestic aircraft crash landed in Pittsburgh. Casualties
are anticipated to be in the thousands.
These incidents have
been reported and are believed by government officials to be acts of
coordinated terrorism. The FAA has closed airports countrywide and an
attempt to account for all aircraft still airborne is under way.
